Hey smokers and welcome to my post where we will check out my three best BBQ meat pans to catch those delicious juices in this year. Now, this current buying guide was born out of a father’s day gift from my beautiful wife.
You see, if you’d have told me 5 years ago that one of the best gifts I ever received was a pair of kitchen gloves, an apron and a meat pan, I’d have thought you were just having a joke. As it tourns out however, they are everything I could need as an avid ‘pitmaster’… haha. And to be honest, the meat pan has been one of my most used items of the lot!

What are BBQ Meat Pans?
In simple terms, a BBQ meat pan – also commonly called a roasting pan – is a metal pan that is used to cook meat in inside a BBQ Grill or oven. In many cases, pitmaster will use a meat pan to place pork or beef in as part of the wrapping process in the final stages of the cook.
Often, a single use disposable aluminum pan is used however if you want a stable option without the constant cost of replacement, then this is a great option.

What Should You Be Looking For?
When selecting a good BBQ meat pan the material and construction quality are crucial factors as well as the following:
Material
The material of your BBQ meat pan affects durability, heat distribution, and maintenance. The following make for good options:

Sturdy handles make transport safer and easier. Heat-resistant handles prevent burns when moving hot pans – although this is not a common option for many pans – hence the gloves part of my gift – haha.

Cleaning Ease
Non-stick coatings or stainless steel surfaces make cleanup simpler. If you dislike cleaning, this feature might be worth the extra cost. Also, dishwasher safe options are very worthwhile too. I mean, who wants to do dishes when you don’t have to.
What do I use?
As above, I was the recipient of a coated aluminum tray that I use to wrap my cooks in when making pulled pork, beef or burnt ends etc. It holds the heat very well and the coated option makes it extremely easy to clean.
It’s nice and deep (approx. 2in/5cm) and fits perfectly inside my Traeger Pro Series 22. It is dishwasher safe and best of all, I never need to purchase disposable aluminum trays again.
